Get Inspiration from June’s Pod Tours!

“Greetings, Blasters! It is that special time of the month where GC and I go exploring through the halls of the I.S.P. to search for the best decorated rooms on ship! So many of you Blasters have such an excellent eye for design, it is very impressive. However, GC and I could only pick two Pods each… So we really had to give our decisions a ton of thought and choose the ones that showed off the personality of the Cadet that resides there. Are you ready to take a look?

GC’s Picks:

pod1On the left: Samantha SilverSky
When I first entered this Pod, I felt like I had been transported to a completely different planet! Samantha had turned her Pod into an underwater forest. I had so much fun exploring all of the fun decorations she hid between the purple trees. Samantha really knows how to turn a Pod into an adventure, and for that I had to feature hers in this month’s Pod Tours.

On the right: John GoldenSun
While Samantha made sure to fill her Pod with fun things to explore, John GoldenSun chose to go a more minimal route with decorating his Pod. Everything is so well displayed, John must know exactly where to find his favorite items when he heads back here after a long day of Red Alert missions. John, I applaud you for your excellent organization!

Max’s Picks:

pod2On the left: Holly FunnyJet
This Blaster gave their Pod a really awesome look by blending together two of their favorite things: hearts and nature. This luxurious bed really stands out amid the floral-print floor. Also, it is so great that Holly keeps the room tied together by matching her dresser and table with the pink bed!

On the right: Steve WarpNeptune
Looks like this Blaster is a bit of a history buff! Steve takes us away from our state-of-the-art Spaceport and transports us back to some much simpler times. While the entire look might not be totally consistent with the prehistoric era, we certainly enjoy that he blends some modern inventions (such as lights) with his makeshift dino bed. Excellent work, John!

Now that you have seen some really awesome Pods, are you excited to start re-decorating your own? Make sure to play your favorite Math Academy games while strengthening your math skills so you can earn Credits towards having the best Pod ever! Afterwards, take a screenshot and post it below so we can feature it in next month’s edition of Pod Tours!

Creating Crews with Max

“Greetings, Blasters! Did you know that today is Intergalactic Space Crew Day? This is a special day when all of the I.S.P.’s new recruits are encouraged to join their very first Crew! I think it is such an exciting time here in Math Blaster. All the new Cadets on board get to meet brand new friends and compete with other teams. Just so many memories to be had.
1This year, in particular, we had so many new Blasters that were eager to join the ranks of our Crews I am just having a little bit of trouble with crunching the numbers. I am going to need YOUR help finding out just how many new Crews must be formed. Since there are 522 Blasters looking to join a team, and only 20 empty spots on our existing Crews… Can you figure out how many new Crews we need to create? It is time to pull out your long division skills! Are you ready for this?

1. First we will need to do a bit of subtracting. Can you figure out what is 522 minus 2?

2. Now comes when we find out the answer. Just how many NEW Crews must be formed. We take the answer from our subtraction problem and then divide it by the amount of spots available for new Crews, which is 50 Cadets.

3. You might have noticed from your answer that there is a remainder. Do you know what this means? You will need to add one more Crew to the answer so all of those remaining Blasters have a team to compete with as well!

Have you found the answer? Let me know what it is in the comments so I can start helping these Cadets form their new Crews! Also, if you have not joined a Crew yet, make sure to do so today and show your Spaceport Spirit!”

Spread the Love around the I.S.P.!

It’s that time of the year when you could shower your fellow space cadets with love and kindness by sending them gifts! Choose from a variety of goodies from the space station store – from food and toys, to hair brushes and sponges, your Valentine or beloved BFF will definitely feel that you care. Click on the Credits tab at the top right corner of your screen, tap onto the gift icon, and choose your gift from a range of selections! Don’t limit your love to just your human and alien friends, be sure to adopt a larva from the Larva Den and raise it into a Monster Mutt! There is never enough love to go around a dimension as big as our galaxy, but let’s start with our space station!

Space Station Overview

Max’s Marvelous Missions

Attention Cadets! We have an EXCITING mission for you. Max is planning a special Math Blaster challenge known as “Max’s Marvelous Missions”. Starting next week, our top Blasters will send you off on a photo scavenger hunt unlike any other. Joining this challenge, you will need to complete a series of tasks around the space station, and report back to Max with screenshots that shows that you have completed each assignment. After submitting your photos to the Math Blaster team, you have the chance to win a few extra coins to be used around the space station.

ImageThe first activity might feel a bit simple to all you experienced and accomplished Blasters out there, but the level of difficulty for each of the following tasks will only increase. Along the way, you might need to wrangle a few aliens, morph your fellow cadets into crazy creatures, or battle another mutt in Nebula Knockout. When it comes to Max’s Marvelous Missions, don’t be afraid to turn to your fellow blasters for help. After all, we are all about working together, here in the I.S.P!

ImageDo you think you have what it takes to complete this out of the world challenge? Join us next week for the start of Max’s Marvelous Missions and you’ll have a chance to win!
